So far this year, we have seen 53 deals to acquire construction supply facilities, just one fewer than the 54 LBM M&A deals we had at this same point in 2025. But with 764 locations affected, the number of facilities that changed hands is only 58% of the 1,307 that got new owners by mid-June 2025.
Perhaps the most interesting deal of the past few weeks involves Decks & Docks, a specialty dealer that has grown rapidly along the Atlantic and Gulf coasts as well as in the Heartland. In late May, Decks & Docks expanded to the West Coast by purchasing J&W Lumber, a six-branch operation in San Diego County, CA. Decks & Docks also opened a greenfield store outside Washington in Sterling, VA.
The Home Depot.and its SRS Distribution unit were active on several fronts. SRS' Gypsum Management & Supply subsidiary bought Peridot Supply, which has three exteriors specialty stores in Canada's Ontario province. Meanwhile, SRS Building Products bought CORCO, a roofing supply store based in Elmhurst, IL. And The Home Depot's International Designs Group took in Vitoria International, a stone specialist serving North Charleston, SC, and Savannah, GA.
In other deals, Builders FirstSource purchased Precision Design & Trim, a millwok shop in Nampa, ID; and Richards Building Supply bought siding specialist U.S. Building Supply, which has four stores in Colorado. In the Milwaukee market, ABC Supply Interiors (formerly L&W Supply) took over Wallboard Inc. of Butler, WI. And Down East, Rocky's Ace Hardware bought Kennebunk (ME) Ace Hardware and also opened a new store in Manchester, CT.
