Meanwhile, plans are in the works to open 56 stores of all types sometime this year.

US LBM bought Old Mission Windows of Traverse City, MI.
Bliffert Lumber expanded in the Milwaukee area by taking in Portage (WI) Lumber.
Mans Lumber & Home purchased the builder and contractor division of Kurtis Kitchen & Bath, which like Mans is based in the Detroit area.
California’s Hayward Lumber increased its Silicon Valley presence by buying Economy Lumber of Campbell, CA.
Beacon made its second acquisition this year, taking over Metro Sealant, a four-unit waterproofing specialist serving Maryland and Virginia. That purchase came about a week after Beacon acquired Roofers Supply of Greenville, with three stores serving the Raleigh and Charlotte, NC, markets.
Penns Valley Building Supply purchased Witherite Building Supplies and Services, which operates two companies—Triangle Building Supplies and Triangle Home Showcase—at the same location in Bellefonte, PA.
An organization called Three Sons Investments bought Tri-County Lumber of Clearwater, MN. Three sons also owns a hardware store in Big Lake, MN.
Outdoor Living Supply bought The Rock Place, which has four stores in the Nashville, TN, area.
SRS Distribution opened a Heritage Wholesalers branch in North Kingstown, RI, and a RoofLine Supply store in Redding, CA.
84 Lumber’s components plant in Winter Haven, FL, has opened.
Several companies have closed or have announced plans to close. The list includes Slaters of Lancaster, OH; Spring Lake Park Lumber of Minneapolis, and the Valu Home Centers branch in Meadville, PA.
